As a Manufacturing Engineering Manager at our Caterpillar Building Construction Products Division in Sanford, NC you will plan and direct the fabrications CI and planning functions to meet the facility plan objectives and satisfy customer needs.
Specifically in this role you can expect to:
- Interfaces with Operations, Business Resources, Engineering, Quality and Logistics.
- Plans, initiates, and maintains fabrications manufacturing engineering processes which establishes and achieves the least total cost, best quality and timely delivery of NPI and CPI projects.
- Manages team of CI techs and planners to ensure timely delivery of planning deliverables.
- Develops and directs internal process flow planning and implements process changes.
- Provides direct support to manufacturing operations through managing standard work, routings and process changes.
- Participates in internal fabrications quality improvement efforts.
- Develops and directs manufacturing engineering projects (IM&E) to support fabrication processes and operations.
- Develops plans and business cases to obtain project funding.
- Selects, trains and assists direct reports while providing career guidance and opportunity for added experience and training.
- Develops staff skills by focusing on evaluative / analytical thinking, innovative approaches to problem solving and team building.
- The position is responsible for all personnel issues and performance evaluation of direct reports.
To be successful in this role, you must bring (Basic qualifications): - Bachelors degree in engineering (Mechanical, industrial or aerospace preferred)
Top Candidates will also bring: - 3-5 years of progressive job-related experience in manufacturing environment
- 2-3 years of fabrication, machining or metal forming experience
- Knowledge and/or experience in planning systems (Standard work, routings, PMEA, SFMEA, etc)
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and CREO
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability develop and deploy creative / original solutions to complex problems
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skill

Summary Pay Range: $95,640.00 - $143,520.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
