Beacon Hill Financial is partnering with a non-profit organization in Baltimore City, MD to bring an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to their team. This position offers a hybrid work schedule, with a combination of remote and in-office work. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the accounting operations of the company, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, compliance with accounting standards, and providing valuable financial insights to support decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and mentor a team of accountants, providing guidance and support in their daily tasks and career development.
- Manage and ensure the accuracy of the general ledger, financial statements, and month-end/year-end close processes.
- Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, for internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, collaborating with department heads to ensure financial targets are met.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, internal controls, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to senior management on financial performance and operational efficiency.
- Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and other accounting transactions.
- Manage relationships with external auditors and assist in the preparation of annual audits.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes to ensure timely and accurate processing.
- Stay current on changes to accounting regulations, industry trends, and best practices, implementing necessary adjustments within the team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and reporting systems.
