The Department of Social Work at UNT houses both graduate and undergraduate programs. Our BSW and MSW programs develop generalist social work practitioners who will optimize quality-of-life outcomes in communities worldwide by helping people overcome the challenges associated with abuse, poverty, homelessness, addiction, disability, illness and discrimination. Graduates practice in a variety of areas including integrated healthcare settings, hospice, substance abuse treatment, mental health, child welfare, aging, criminal justice, veterans, military and first responders, and more.
Position Overview
The Department of Social Work seeks qualified individuals for its Adjunct Instructor pool and welcomes applicants at any time. This posting is for the Fall 2024, Spring 2025 and Summer 2025 semesters. The specific courses available vary from semester to semester and openings to teach these courses may develop on a periodic basis, depending on department teaching needs. The anticipated need is for adjunct instructors to teach courses across the curriculum in both the BSW and MSW programs. Examples of courses include Social Welfare Policy, Human Behavior, and Field Seminar. Both of our programs are primarily face to face with most classes meeting during the day on the UNT Denton campus. There is limited opportunity for online teaching.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in Social Work with at least two years of post-master's social work practice experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Licensure as a social worker at the LMSW or LCSW level. Previous college teaching experience
