Job Description

Position Overview: The Agronomy Assistant Operations Manager assists Manager and Team in all tasks related to location, including but not limited to, growing sales and service, building relationships with customers, daily plant operations, crop input recommendations for growers, custom application, aerial application, record keeping, managing inventory levels of CN and CPP, ordering and tracking inventory, supervising equipment, and fleet maintenance, and assisting in management of some seasonal employees.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in customer service on all levels, including communications regarding timing and logistical requirements.
  • Assist in timely custom application operations of crop nutrients, and crop protection products. This includes providing support in soil testing, planning field applications, writing work orders, preparing maps, and dispatching trucks.
  • Assist with coordinating aerial applications of fungicides using software and digitizing field maps.
  • Ability to coordinate and perform all plant duties such as blend dry fertilizer, run liquid load out and receiving bay, operate fork trucks, load NH3 tanks.
  • Monitoring CPP and CN inventory to ensure adequate supply, minimize shrink to acceptable levels and returns.
  • Responsible for ordering and arranging freight carriers for resupply of crop nutrients and crop protection products.
  • Ensure safety programs are in place and followed; ensure safety training is current.
  • Responsible for maintaining the organized and professional appearance of the facility.
  • Must have immediate knowledge or awareness of all location personnel at any given time.
  • Ensure equipment is maintained and ready for use at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
