A DAY IN THE LIFEEnthalpy Analytical, is part of the larger organization, Montrose Environmental Group, is comprised of 9 laboratories servicing air, water, soil and toxicology testing. Regulations drive the need for our services, but our unique capabilities allow us to add value to clients beyond environmental compliance. For our families and communities, we strive to protect the air they breathe, the water they drink, and the soil on which they live.
We are looking for a full-time Analyst to join our SVOA team at our environmental lab in Orange, CA. This position is a temporary role with the possibility of transitioning into a permanent position based on performance and business needs.
Pay Range: $21-$25/hour
Schedule: Available to work weekdays, weekends, holidays, split shifts - a flexible schedule on a full time basis
As a key member of the laboratory team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:
- Daily tasks include batch evaluation, daily QA/QC, ICALs, data reduction and review for sample by GC-MS, GC-ECD, GC-FID analyses
- Other tasks including performing 2nd data review, generating Corrective Action Reports (CARs), evaluating and submitting MDL study
- Provide feedback when data indicates that instrument needs maintenance or repairs
- Adhere to proper documentation practices and record keeping
- Interface with Project Managers, Operations Personnel and Quality Assurance Personnel
YOUR EXPERTISE AND SKILLSTo perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required
- Requires a BA/BS in science
- Requires at least 15 years of GC-MS/GC-ECD/GC-FID experience in an environmental lab
- Intimate knowledge of various SVOA methods including EPA 8270, 8081, 8082, 8015
- Must have extensive experience working with a LIMS system
- Intimate knowledge of Agilent GC-MS/GC-ECD/GC-FID's as well as organic extraction processes
- Position requires attention to detail, ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and a desire to work both as part of a team and independently
- Must be able to work in a stationary position for split shifts
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Method development, process improvement, SOP review/revision.
- general lab practices and lab safety
- Must be flexible in work schedule (including weekends) and able to work overtime
- Well organized and have an attention to detail
- Able to multi-task
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
