JOB SUMMARY

Under direct supervision, installs, maintains, tests, and repairs systems and networks. Utilizes basic technical knowledge to support IT initiatives and provide first-level technical information systems support to the global user community. Resolves routine technical problems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties as assigned.

  1. Performs basic problem solving and assistance on various software applications and hardware systems for global user community.
  2. Provide individual instruction and/or training to users on new or updated technologies.
  3. Performs routine technical assistance and maintenance duties.
  4. Maintains and updates record keeping system; may document projects and maintain user instructions.
  5. Assists with tracking inventory levels of equipment and materials; performs data entry and maintenance of records such as, but not limited to, project documents, user instructions, general reports and/or systems errors.
  6. Coordinate and purchase appropriate supplies.
  7. Performs routine technological systems support, maintenance, and testing for proper upkeep of systems; troubleshoots and resolves general system hardware, software, and network failures and conflicts.
  8. Assists with the review, evaluation and recommendation of solutions relating to applications.
  9. Assists with research and development initiatives and in the implementation of new technologies.
  10. Assists with the implementation of technology projects with moderate scope and impact.
  11. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED; at least 6 months of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Higher education and/or experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • To perform the position, you must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR. ITAR defines a US Person as a US Citizen, US Permanent Resident (I.e., 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • Must be able to report to assigned office location during scheduled in-office workdays.
  • Knowledge of a range of computer systems software and applications.
  • Initiate and monitor scheduled processes.
  • Knowledge of current technological developments.
  • Records maintenance skills.
  • Ability to provide direction to users to resolve technological issues.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Ability to determine computer problems and to coordinate appropriate solutions.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve basic computer problems.
  • Ability to compose and publish relevant system documentation.
  • Ability to communicate technical guidance and instruction to users on the use of PC and/or mainframe applications and systems.
  • Successful background check screening.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand, sit, use computers, read, write, type, use copy machines, file paperwork, use telephones, and utilize written and oral communication to interact with clients, co-workers, and customers. Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers (paperwork, typing, using mouse/keyboard). The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work.)
