Role Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our finance team as an Assistant Controller. The Assistant Controller will play a crucial role in managing our financial operations, overseeing accounting processes, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing strategic financial insights to support decision-making for both C Space & Hall & Partners, US. This position will report directly to the Global Controller.

Base salary range for this role is $115,000 - $130,000. If this is not the right range for you, please check out our other openings. This position is 100% remote.

Responsibilities:

  • Accounting operations: Oversee and manage areas within the Accounting department including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and company policies.
  • Month-End Close: Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure all financial transactions are accurately captured.
  • General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Identify and address discrepancies or variances promptly.
  • Internal Controls: Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures and support the implementation and maintenance of internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial data. Conduct periodic audits and assessments of internal controls.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with the finance team to assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts. Monitor actual performance against budgeted figures and provide variance analysis.
  • Audit & Tax Support: Prepare schedules and provide documentation for external audits, regulatory and tax compliance. Address auditor and tax inquiries and assist in the resolution of any audit or tax findings.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate accounting processes and procedures to identify opportunities for efficiency enhancements and process improvements. Recommend and implement best practices.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the finance team members and other departments to ensure accurate financial data exchange and a seamless flow of information.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated on the latest accounting standards and industry trends. Seek opportunities for professional growth and development.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor•s degree in Accounting or related field
  • Certified Public Accountant, required
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting work experience
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Experience working in a private equity backed company, preferred.
  • Experience at a multi-national company, preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Professional services experience, preferred.
  • Purchase Accounting and Opening Balance Sheet experience, preferred
  • Strong system proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word
  • NetSuite, D365, Adaptive, Other F&A IT Systems

  • Base salary range for this role is $115,000 - $130,000 (determined by level of experience) with total on-target compensation opportunity in the $180,000 - $225,000 range based on target revenue.
