Summary

The Assistant Dean for EDI in the School of Liberal Arts (SLA) supports the dean in implementing and guiding the school's equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives, activities, and programs - including supporting and implementing the SLA Strategy for Tomorrow EDI strategic plan. The Assistant Dean reports directly to the Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs, who works with the dean. They will assist in the development and implementation of programs designed to facilitate longitudinal, systematic, and focused initiatives resulting in positive outcomes for the School of Liberal Arts. Duties will also include supporting and delivering professional development trainings on racial and intersectional bias, cultural competency in research, teaching, and service environments to the SLA community. The Assistant Dean will track and provide reports on all EDI activities to determine outcomes and viability of various programs, activities, and partnerships over time. The incumbent will create and manage SLA's Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion website and internal/external communications.

Required Qualifications

* Master's Degree and 3-5 years of experience in EDI related program and data management, along with experience in working at an accredited institution of higher education. * Knowledge of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion practices.

Preferred Qualifications

* Master's Degree* Knowledge of the School of Liberal Arts' missions relative to research, education, and service* Experience in academic settings* Familiarity with literature on EDI, belonging, intersectionality, and critiques/challenges to these discourses
