Job Title:Assistant Director, Leadership ProgramsDepartment:Student Life | Student Engagement and Support

The Assistant Director for Student Leadership Programs directs and implements programs focused on leadership for social change and engaged citizenship, and integrates leadership development into programs and resources across the office of Leadership and Community Engagement; oversees annual programs including the LeaderShape Institute, Leadership Week, Leadership Certificates, and Leadership Awards; advise and trains both the Student Leadership Advocates staff of peer educators with the Coordinator of Student Leadership, as well as regular facilitation of leadership workshops and retreats for student organizations and campus departments; supervises the Coordinator for Student Leadership Development, a Graduate Associate, and two undergraduate student employees; manages the Non-Profit Immersion Program and advises all student participants; oversees programming budget of ~$40,000, including sponsorship stewardship; creates new programming for students at all levels; sits on the student life leadership group; remains grounded in research and assessment, relevant theory and literature, effective practices, and purposeful relationships to design and deliver programs and resources; demonstrates an awareness of and support for diversity and inclusion in program content and recruitment processes to reach a broad student audience.

Minimum Education Required Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Advanced degree in relevant field may be desirable. 6 years of relevant experience required.

Desired: Knowledge of student development theory; demonstrated facilitation skills; experience working with and advising college students; experience working with campus and community partners; experience working with communities from different backgrounds; experience supervising full time professional staff or graduate assistants.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 6 years of relevant experience required. 8-12 years of relevant experience preferred.
