Your Role:

Targeted mRNA delivery has the potential to change patient lives by enabling life changing therapies. An M-Ventures funded biotech start-up is poised to seize the opportunity at the intersection between our Healthcare and Life Science Divisions. Our mandate is to think big and reach across teams to leverage the full capabilities of the organization. With the agility of a startup and the resources of a leading multinational organization, the targeted mRNA delivery team is transforming the way researchers develop mRNA therapies. As the Associate Scientist working in the Billerica, MA site on crafting a groundbreaking and active targeting platform which will enable the therapeutic delivery of mRNA. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Design of in vivo studies for delivery system optimization and screening
  • Develop novel and state-of-the-art in vitro and ex vivo assays to complement in vivo readouts
  • Support selection of target system (cell type, mRNA payload)
  • CRO handling
  • Present study observations and data in cross-functional project meetings
  • Animal handling, in vivo, in vitro and ex vivo capabilities

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or other Life Sciences discipline
  • 2+ years' of experiences in Life Sciences disciplines
  • 2+ years of experience working in invitro and animal experimentations

OR
  • Master's Degree in Biology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or other Life Sciences discipline
  • 2+ years' of experiences in Life Sciences disciplines
  • 2+ years of experience working in invitro and animal experimentations

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in FACS and flow cytometry
  • Experience in IVIS, ELISA, and PCR
  • Sound knowledge in immunological theory and practice
  • Recent in vivo and ex vivo lab work
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in mRNA / LNP development
  • Ability to work under pressure optimally in a global, matrixed organization across multiple time zones and geographies
  • Highly organized, detailed, creative, results-driven problem solver with demonstrated flexibility and collaborative working style
