DEPARTMENT PURPOSE AND STRUCTURE
The U.S. Marketing & Business Development team (U.S. MKT Team) is a sophisticated group of experienced professionals charged with guiding the Firm's fee earners to grow U.S. and global revenues, expand existing client relationships and strategically tackle new client pursuits.

ROLE PURPOSE
The Business Development Coordinator - Corporate role is a fantastic opportunity to gain global experience working for one of the largest law firms in the world and to learn the unique approach that a truly global firm utilizes towards business development and marketing. Our U.S. team works cooperatively with our colleagues located in close to 50 offices throughout the world as one integrated team.
The Business Development Coordinator will provide day-to-day business development support focusing primarily on the Corporate practices, including M&A, Private Equity, Capital Markets, and Global Employment and Compensation. The Business Development Coordinator will work with business development teams across the firm to help support these groups worldwide. This includes, but is not limited to, responding to client requests for proposals, coordination of involvement in firm-wide initiatives, sponsorship and event management, collateral creation and management, and legal directory submissions.

CONTEXT
The candidate will be one of the main points of contact and oversee all day-to-day business development support for our Corporate business development team and business development initiatives.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Pitches, Proposals and Credentials: Working directly with attorneys to create and manage competitive proposals, credentials, pitches and presentations.
- Marketing Systems: Maintaining practice and attorney specific information in our marketing systems, including lawyer CVs, deal lists, pitch tracking activities, and client contact database.
- Market Research: Conducting market research on existing and prospective clients and market issues which may impact clients' businesses.
- Internal Communications: Coordinating meetings with practice groups to review progress on marketing projects and key client targeting, ensuring relevant information from these meetings is circulated to other relevant internal groups.
- Awards and Rankings: Assist with the preparation of legal directories submissions and other rankings and surveys.
- Client Events: Working with the U.S. events team to plan and facilitate client events and seminars.
- Sponsorships: Coordinating firm sponsorships of conferences.
- Cross-Practice & Global Integration: Leveraging the firm's international partner and business development network to coordinate existing projects and develop new opportunities; share ideas with colleagues to enhance quality and efficiency of work; and develop best practices for practice groups and the business development team as a whole.
TEAM
This position reports directly to the Business Development Senior Manager, Corporate and will work closely with all the U.S. Corporate Business Development team.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- 2-4 years of legal or professional services experience working in a high-profile, fast-paced environment; previous paralegal experience will be considered.
- High attention to detail and strong client focus.
- Culturally astute with a strong ability to work effectively with colleagues from other countries on cross-border activities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
- A self-starter with the ability prioritize, multi-task and drive forward multiple projects.
- Willingness and enthusiasm to develop an in-depth understanding of markets in which your practice areas operate.
- Bachelor's degree required.

This role is open for individuals based in New York. For individuals assigned to or hired for this opportunity, the estimated annualized base salary range for this position is $79,000 -$92,000. The actual base salary offered will depend on the overall qualifications of the individual applicant for the position and other job-related factors permitted by law.
