Apply now for the position of Biochemist I in Walpole, MA. This position impacts people's health, and well-being all around the world, while working on new and exciting automation platform, the Siemens Atellica. The Biochemist I position supports manufacturing personnel via technical expertise and guidance, as they build/test diagnostic reagents and materials that will be used by clinical labs on Atellica, Centaur, and Centaur CP automation platforms. This position reports to the Manager of Technical Operations with the manufacturing sector. Assay portfolio focus is Thyroid. This position is based at our Walpole, MA site and is a full time onsite position.
This position includes the handling of all types of materials, including hazardous DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency) controlled materials. This position requires a DEA background and drug screen.
Your role:
- Leading projects throughout the project life cycle
- Perform troubleshooting to investigate technical issues associated with immunoassay reagents and testing components.
- Coordinating and carrying out root cause investigations and implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Create and participate in the design of experiments (DOE)
- Write compliance documentation associated with technical investigations, data analyses, and experimental conclusions
- Work in the laboratory running Atellica, Centaur, and CP instrumentation with serum and other biological fluids of human and animal origin
Your expertise:
- Basic understanding and knowledge of the principles of biochemistry
- Strong work ethic, and be capable of timeline management
- Excellent written and communication skills
Your Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Medical Technology, Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry
- Experience working on design and/or process change projects and CAPAs preferred
- Strong command of PC skills (MS Office 365 software like Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook) and statistical methods (Minitab preferred)
- Must be flexible and demonstrate the ability to switch priorities to meet business needs
