Description:

The Early Psychosis Intervention Clinic New Orleans (EPIC-NOLA) is recruiting for a one-year clinical psychology fellowship position expected to start in January 2024. EPIC-NOLA includes an early detection and intervention service integrated with several clinical and services level research projects. EPIC-NOLA hosts a Learning Health System (LHS) with a custom-built informatics platform to support quality improvement and practice-based research. The Postdoctoral Fellow will work under the supervision of a child psychologist and the Medical Director at EPIC-NOLA and with a child psychiatric fellow to assess all clinical high-risk referrals for attenuated psychosis syndrome (APS). The Fellow will administer structured assessments and monitor patients who meet criteria for APS via psychotherapy and other supportive services. The Fellow should be enthusiastic about working with an interdisciplinary team to collect and analyze data and publish their work.


Qualifications:

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

  1. Completion of PhD or PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology at an APA-accredited program by start of the fellowship.
  2. Completion of an APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship in Clinical Psychology by the start of the fellowship.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES TYPICALLY NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS JOB SUCCESSFULLY:  

  1. Strong clinical interest in psychosis or severe mental illness
  2. Strong analytic and writing skills
  3. Experience working in multidisciplinary clinical settings
  4. Interest in developing a career related to improving access to or quality of mental health services for youth with serious mental illness

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

  1. Previous experience with qualitative research methods
  2. Experience as an author of peer-reviewed literature in the field of mental health
  3. Working familiarity with a statistical package
  4. Previous experience in an early psychosis treatment program
  5. Previous experience related to assessment, program implementation, and evaluation in community settings, and/or linking cognitive or biological risk markers to treatment outcomes
