Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Configuration Management Specialist to join our team. As a Configuration Management Specialist, you will play a critical role in managing the configuration of General Support Platform (client) assets, ensuring compliance with established processes and standards. You will collaborate with stakeholders to oversee the lifecycle of client assets, identify and mitigate risks, and drive continuous improvement efforts.   • Work Days: Monday - Friday with occasional weekend and after hours support.
  • Must be able to lift 35lbs regularly
  • Must be able to move about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
Required Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalency.
  • IAT II qualified or holds the following certs: CCNA-Security, CySA+ (CySA+ is a CompTIA certification formerly listed as CSA+), GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP.
  • Four (4) years of progressive experience demonstrating the required proficiency.
  • Proven expertise in configuration management, including asset inventory management, configuration control, and change management.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to address unique and complex challenges.
  • Leadership Experience: Demonstrated ability to lead teams and coordinate project activities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in documentation and reporting, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard configuration management tools and methodologies.
  • Experience with compliance and standards in a government or defense environment is desirable.
  • Current or past DHA support experience preferred
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of all client assets. Track asset lifecycle from acquisition to disposal, ensuring proper documentation and record-keeping.
  • Implement and enforce configuration management processes to control changes to client assets. Ensure that all changes are documented, reviewed, and approved according to established procedures.
  • Identify and classify client assets, assigning unique identifiers to each asset for tracking purposes. Categorize assets based on type, usage, and criticality to support effective management.
  • Manage changes to client assets, ensuring that changes are implemented in a controlled and coordinated manner. Conduct impact assessments to evaluate the effects of proposed changes on the overall system.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of all configuration management activities, including asset records, change logs, and configuration baselines. Generate regular reports on asset status, changes, and configuration compliance.
  • Ensure that client asset management practices comply with relevant standards, regulations, and policies. Conduct audits and assessments to verify compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of client assets, from planning and acquisition to maintenance and retirement. Develop and implement strategies for asset optimization and cost-effective management.
  • Work closely with other departments and stakeholders to coordinate asset management activities. Facilitate communication and collaboration to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with client asset management. Develop contingency plans to address potential issues and ensure business continuity.
  • Provide training and support to staff on configuration management processes and tools. Develop user guides and training materials to enhance understanding and compliance.
