Volt is immediately hiring for Customer Engineer in AUBURN HILLS, MICHIGAN
As a Customer Engineer you will:
• Provide product support for current and new products
• Develop strong working relationships with customer technical counterparts to serve as their primary liaison to deliver product technical information, manage product specifications, communicate product change information, conduct installation issue resolutions and facilitate customer requests
• Translate customer needs and "voice of the customer" into functional product requirements
• Owns problem resolution for moderately complex components, products, systems, subsystems or services with a greater degree of technical complexity and ambiguity over the entry level engineer level and with greater accountability to the project team
• Involves minimal direct management of people, but could involve the coordination and direction of work amongst technicians and/or temporary student employees.
• Perform Installation Quality Assurance (IQA) testing & collect/analyze data
• All CPG (Chelsea Proving Grounds) CES support for client development (MY25, MY27+)
• All Opdyke CES work for client programs including truck up-fits and root cause analysis
• Support CES work at STLA CTC which includes meetings, truck builds, and issue resolution
• Provide local support for external validation suppliers in Detroit area
• Manage CES inventory for spare parts at Opdyke for rapid response of Engineering alpha, beta test trucks
This is a full time opportunity.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Experience with diesel engines/technology is highly preferred. Engine manufacturing, automotive, or exhaust background is good too.
- Experience with testing; vibration, DEF tank, durability
- 3D CAD experience, NX Teamcenter is preferred
- Excellent communication skills to be able to connect with the onsite client, testing team, and engineering team to relay any findings.
Pay Rate: $40.00 - 46.00/hour *Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
