Summary:

A Principal in Data Science and Operations Research (DSOR) Enablement is a senior-level role responsible for leading the integration of advanced analytics and operations research methodologies across the organization, driving optimization of business processes and decision-making. They collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify strategic opportunities and implement data-driven solutions that align with organizational goals. With a deep understanding of both business operations and technical methodologies, they provide strategic direction, mentorship, and technical expertise, empowering DSOR practitioners to deliver impactful insights and solutions. They play a key role in influencing leadership through effective communication, ensuring that DSOR initiatives deliver impactful, value-driven outcomes.

This role requires strong familiarity with data science, operations research, business acumen, and operational domain knowledge to champion innovation and continuous improvement across the enterprise while staying updated on the latest advancements and guiding the organization's strategy to leverage these capabilities effectively.

Job Description

  • Provide strategic leadership and vision for the "startup" of the DSOR Enablement function
  • Lead and inspire DSOR initiatives, driving innovative, data-driven solutions that optimize business processes and support growth
  • Provide strategic guidance, setting clear priorities, and ensuring effective execution of DSOR projects from hypothesis to deliverable
  • Mobilize and mentor cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of curiosity, experimentation, and continuous improvement
  • Support the design of user-centric products that align with business goals, enhancing decision-making and user engagement
  • Communicate complex DSOR concepts clearly to stakeholders, influencing leadership and ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives
  • Track progress and ensure accountability for project milestones, delivering impactful solutions that maximize the value of DSOR initiatives
  • Author and propagate best practices for the DSOR discipline to facilitate a culture that advances DSOR globally

  • Excellent facilitation skills. Should be able to facilitate group discussions at all levels and consolidate feedback to improve customer experience.
  • Proficiency with Agile, scrum, or other types of software development methodologies
  • Proficiency with program and/or product management disciplines
  • Familiarity with Business Architecture or Enterprise Architecture disciplines

Domicile Information: 

This position can be domiciled anywhere in the United States. The ability to work remotely within the United States may be available based on business need. 

Minimum Qualifications:

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Data Science, Operations Research, Engineering, Business Administration, Business Analytics, or related discipline. [Advanced degree preferred.]

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

Five to eight (5 - 8) years of experience in working with teams in analytics, data science, operations research, engineering or a related field, with demonstrated leadership in managing teams and executing complex projects. Practitioner or practitioner-adjacent experience in analytics, data science, operations research, or a related fields inclusive of prototyping and rapid experimentation.


Preferred Qualifications:  

Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors permitted by law. An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. The Company offers eligible employees health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.

Pay: U.S. Pay Range: $148,800 - $223,200
