Position Purpose

Reporting to the Senior Director of Construction Management, the Director of Contract Management leads the contract management practice to support the numerous key projects under development and execution. Primary focus of this position will be to support Engineering and construction contracts.

Notes:

  • This is a hybrid position.
  • This position will have ~ 25% travel.
  • Position is posted in multiple cities, but there is only one (1) open job.

Primary Duties / Responsibilities

  • Elaborate and build all the contractual negotiations and discussions with stakeholders (e.g. Partners, investors, subcontractors).
  • Develop and implement a global process to streamline and support the preparation of large-scale project contracts.
  • Assist the Business Developer (BD) in developing the best economic and execution of contractual structures adapted to the needs of the end customer.
  • Manage claims and develop claim strategies.
  • Prepare notifications, correspondence, and related documentation (amendments, change orders, and other contract related documents).
  • Review of and advice on contractual aspects of procurement documents, processes, strategies and evaluation criteria for survey, engineering, consultancy, EPC and O&M works.
  • Co-Chair project contractual reviews.
  • Track and initiate reductions in Letters of Credit, LDs, Warranty, and other commercial risk at project close.
  • Track and release of all contract-required notifications.
  • Act as the primary liaison for legal ensuring their involvement in key matters and project disputes.
  • Build and directly manage an efficient contract management team.

Qualifications

Education / Experience / Background

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, law, or related degree with a MBA preferred
  • 15+ years of career progression in contract management including experience with large and complex projects of $50MM plus.
  • Project Management Certification preferred
  • Ability to manage a team of Contract Managers
  • Demonstrated knowledge of EPC Contractor, key suppliers activities, and projects contracting scheme under various partnerships (development, construction, financing).
  • Experience in project economics and asset management methods, as well as relevant industry standards.
  • Possess contractual and commercial knowledge to ensure contract compliance, overall commercial integrity and timely delivery.
  • Knowledge in legal, contractual, and commercial terms related to construction activities.
