Brief Role Description

As the Director of Target Development, in a three-year phased approach, you will define and lead the complete go-to-market strategy of Rehrig•s product portfolio management, beginning with ASRS/Integrators, then including Trays, Crates, Bins, RPCs, Pallets, and E-commerce Totes.

Areas of Accountabilities

Defining Go-2-Market

  • Develop and implement short•and long-term strategies to identify and prioritize our core product portfolio, enhancing market share growth and new target market opportunities.
  • Phased Approach
  • Phase 1 Priority 1 for two years is the identification of key ASRS partners and markets.
  • Priority 2 during the first phase is to identify Pharmaceuticals, Vertical Farming, Organics, and Advanced Technology for Waste Collections.
  • Phase 2, during the director's third year, involves beginning the commercialization of greenfield opportunities and transferring the responsibility to the VP of Supply Chain Sales.
  • Priority 2 during the second phase is expansion into existing SC markets, where Rehrig has a minor market share. Food Service, Solar, HVAC
  • Enhance the company•s sustainable packaging capabilities, aligning with the growth demand for eco-friendly products in the Grocery and E-commerce sectors.
  • Lead and drive Logistics Solutions' annual line review to ensure the product portfolio is profitable and our solutions continue to create value for our customers.
Market Research
  • Conduct in-depth market research with support from NPD and Marketing to identify emerging trends, competitive dynamics, and customer needs.
  • Analyze data to uncover market expansion opportunities based on a phased approach, starting with Integrators, and guide decision-making where Supply Chain Sales can commercialize product offerings to expand its market presence and gain competitive advantages.

Innovation
  • Stay abreast of technological advancements and innovative practices in the products we serve and related industries.
  • Builds and creates an alliance with NPD in the Research and Development of transformative products and market innovation, including new technologies.

Relationship Building
  • Establish strong relationships with key industry stakeholders, potential partners, and clients.
    • Prioritize Automation and System Integrators
    • Leverage new customer base
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to build the company•s brand and explore new possibilities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including the executive team, R&D, PMO, NPD, FP&A manufacturing, supply, environmental and services sales, and marketing, to ensure alignment and support for target development initiatives.
  • Communicates progress, challenges, and successes to the executive team and board of directors.
  • Build Mexico and US market and category collaboration, ensuring the sharing of product categories, market solutions, and best practices while leveraging global customer relationships for scalability.

Ensure accountability and effectiveness of Cross-functional teams
  • Identify and manage risks associated with target development activities, developing mitigation strategies to address potential changes.
  • Work with FP&A to prepare detailed business cases for potential targets, including cost models, risk assessment, and strategic impact analyses.
  • Lead Customer Value proposition for customer-driven solutions and ensure all projects are optimized for market solutions.
Qualifications:
  • BA / BS degree required.
  • 10-15 years of B2B or B2C in new business development growth and category management experience.
  • Track record of driving innovation and staying ahead of industry trends.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence through teamwork and collaboration.
  • Capable of making tough, fast decisions based on business objectives.
  • Ability to effectively present to and advocate for ideas with senior management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including excellent presentation, facilitation, and listening skills.

Other Requirements
  • Minimum 40-50% of time spent traveling by airplane.
  • The job may require the physical lifting of the product. (Samples of crates, trays, pallets, etc.)
