The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Orthopedics is currently seeking a full time Division Administrator, Clinical to work in Miami, FL. The Division Administrator, Clinical works in conjunction with the department's administrators to provide leadership to the assigned functional area within the organization. The incumbent analyzes practice operations and needs to determine potential enhancements or improvements to operational procedures and develops supporting patient accounting policies and procedures.

Develops and maintains systems for managing and reporting the division's activities.
Maintains close liaison and positive working relationships with faculty and staff.
Provides leadership in developing business strategies and tactics to support the goals of the division and Health System's strategic plans for market growth and development.
Oversees the performance management processes and outcomes for employees and physicians.
Supports professional development of the workforce and performs needs assessments to determine continuing education needs of staff.
Monitors staff and physician satisfaction.
Supports quality improvement processes and pursues the spread of best practice in operations consistent with overall network goals.
Directs the planning and strategic formation of clinical program goals.
Analyzes and reviews financial and productivity reports.
Oversees business plan development for capital projects.
Provides overall administrative direction and coordination for revenue cycle management policies, procedures, and programs.
Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

DEPARTMENT ADDENDUM
Department Specific Functions
MSK Program Management
Oversee the continued market development and ongoing operation of the comprehensive Musculoskeletal Program at SoLé Mia, ensuring that care is delivered in a manner consistent with UM and HSS standards of performance and excellence
Partner with the Medical Director to support medical staff, promote operational excellence, and ensure the highest levels of quality and patient experience
Collaborate with all levels of management and staff at UM to ensure ongoing operations meet both UM and HSS standards and accomplish the goals of the collaboration
Implement and monitor process change to ensure long-term sustainability
Support strategic planning and business development initiatives
Function as primary liaison between the UM hospital administration, HSS Florida leadership and other HSS hospital departments
Build strong relationships with the UM team
Represent orthopedic service line on various hospital committees and project workgroups
Work with clinical leadership to ensure that the program meets access, efficiency, patient throughput, productivity, quality, and organizational goals as outlined in an agreed-upon quality/operations scorecard
Staff Management
Responsible for the oversight of all operations within the MSK Program at SoLé Mia, including the management of staff
Oversee the interviewing, hiring, and training processes for the MSK Program at SoLé Mia
Create an environment with high employee engagement that makes UM and the MSK Program the provider of choice
Implements effective HR processes, including performance management and annual goal setting to develop an exceptional MSK team
Clinical & Operational Workflows
Ensure appropriate patient flow and daily operations across outpatient musculoskeletal services
Create efficiencies for patients/visitors/physicians/staff
Resolve and address patient issues/concerns/conflicts in real time
Serve as the liaison for facility-related issues
Financial Management & Compliance
Prepare and update reports/presentations/etc. as needed for departmental meetings or activities
Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures
Monitor all financials including but not limited to: budgets, A/R, and financial projections, and ensure that the orthopedic program meets and/or exceeds volume growth projections and performance metrics
Department Specific Qualifications
Education:
Bachelors required; Masters preferred
Experience:
Seven or more years progressive management experience in a hospital and/or medical practice setting. Experience in orthopedics, ASCs, and/or a related clinical setting is preferred but not required.
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
Effectiveness in change management, including an excitement for change, the courage to initiate and lead change, and an ability to unite stakeholders
Knowledge of process improvement methodologies and tools to present project results to senior-level executives
Data collection, analysis, process mapping, root cause problem solving, and solution design
Ability to understand, analyze, and interpret financial reports.
Ability to routinely assesses priorities and competing demands using well-developed project management tools, adjust allocation of time and resources, and delegate appropriately to increase efficiency and effectiveness while managing multiple priorities and projects on tight deadlines
