Job Description:
The Electrical/Mechanical Technician is responsible for receiving units for inspection and repair, preparing a repair report for service coordinator review and order quoting, and troubleshooting. This position supports other manufacturing teams as necessary.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receives and records transactions in accordance with company procedures. Verify serial numbers of original components from order archives
- Conduct inspections of returned material and complete an Inspection of Returned Material Report, including product history research, and identify potential root causes of failure/damage and solution recommendations
- Troubleshoot, complete repairs, conduct load testing certification, utilize schematics/job paperwork, and coordinate with After Sales to update/correct job orders.
- Perform a full functional test on final integrated actuators, bridges, hoists, and control assemblies to verify that the system is meeting customer requirements and industry standards
- Assess Electrical and mechanical failures to determine root cause, assembling non-electrified as well as electrified stock components and completing repair orders.
- Communicate and interact with the appropriate department to manage the stock and return/shipping transactions
- Able to integrate customer-supplied components with the use of manuals and schematics from different manufacturers and integrate them together electrically to function as a system
- Maintain and update service and loaner units and service stock
- Assess Electrical and mechanical failures to determine root cause, assembling non-electrified as well as electrified stock components and completing repair orders.
- All other duties as assigned by management
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or a minimum of two years of a hands-on electrical industrial electric experience
- Experience using a multi-meter to measure Voltage, Current, and Resistance
- Must be able to pass truck and crane certification with training upon hire
- Computer knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and other computer programs
- Ability to read blueprints, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics
- Ability to participate in minor data entry
- Ability to read a tape measure
- Ability to use hand tools requiring dexterity
- Must be able to communicate effectively with factory supervision
- Knowledge of Syteline (Symix) or other ERP Systems preferred
- Familiarity with PLC's preferred
- Familiarity with Three Phase preferred
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across organizations

WORK ENVIRONMENT:ADA Physical/Mental/Workplace Requirements
- Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Able to stand (75%); walk (20%); stoop, kneel or crouch (5%), as required.
- Able to wear safety glasses and foot protection throughout shift.
- Able to wear hearing protectors (ear plugs) throughout the shift while working in an environment with moderate noise levels.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Gorbel, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
A reasonable estimate of the current range is:
Electrical/Mechanical Technician I: Min $16.00 - Max $23.63
Electrical/Mechanical Technician II: Min $19.74 - Max $29.62
Electrical/Mechanical Technician III: Min $21.42- Max $32.14
