Volt is immediately hiring EM Assembler for a local leading manufacturing company in Poway.

As a EM Assembler you will:

  • Reads and interprets documentation/information such as Work Release Information, Engineering Change Order (ECO), Written instructions regarding duties to be performed, and Verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed
  • Reads and follows assembly building documentation/information such as Production drawings (released, unreleased or obsolete), Sample assemblies, and Informal (hand-drawn or unreleased) assembly drawings
  • Assembly/disassembly and test of mechanical assemblies using both traditional and non-traditional tooling such as calipers, micrometer, depth gauge, screwdriver, torque wrench, standard wrench, hammer, etc
  • Performs surface mount and through-hole soldering and de-soldering of components.
  • Adjusts and trims materials from components to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics
  • Install and or remove resistors, transformers, capacitors, transistors, inductors, and more on PCAs using soldering technique.
  • Perform tasks such as soldering, assembling, and disassembling by screwing, bolting, and gluing. Mount components to circuits, sockets, or chassis panels.
  • Connect lead wires to PCBs and route or connect wires between component leads, connectors, terminals, or other contact points.
  • Reworks and repairs defective units rejected by inspection or test personnel
  • Troubleshoots and replaces defects of finished products
  • Perform in-line and final inspection under microscopes to ensure assemblies and parts all meet production specifications
  • Ensures that quality checks are completed throughout the manufacturing process
This is a full-time Temp-to-Hire opportunity.

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Requires a High School Education or equivalent and 5-10 years closely related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of working with electronic components such as wires, transformers, and components.
  • Proficiency with mechanical hardware such as nuts, bolts, screws, and more for assembly purposes.
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations, including ratios and fractions
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Kanban systems
  • Basic computer skills (Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word) needed to perform the required duties
  • Advanced ability to read blueprints, bill of materials, mechanical drawings, written instructions and understand verbal instructions
  • Able to interpret drawings, perform modifications and rework assemblies
  • The selected candidate will be required to provide proof of right to work in the United State
Schedule: Monday to Friday 5am-1:30pm

Pay Rate: $24 per hour

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.

Experience with the following is a plus:
  • Knowledge of Ceramics/Plastics
  • Electrical Technician
  • Mechanical Assembly
