Job Purpose

Join Our Team as an Engineering Manager in Roanoke!

Are you ready to lead a dynamic team in one of the most critical roles at our facility? We are seeking an exceptional Engineering Manager to spearhead all site engineering and maintenance activities, ensuring safety, quality, and continuous improvement efforts are at the forefront of everything we do. As the Engineering Manager, you will be instrumental in executing capital projects, championing our Process Safety Management Program, and driving lean manufacturing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all site engineering and maintenance activities, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
• Drive continuous process improvements and lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Own the Capital Investments Plan, collaborating with stakeholders to prioritize projects.
• Develop and motivate maintenance and engineering personnel, fostering a culture of excellence.
• Analyze equipment reliability and implement action plans for improvement.
• Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to optimize activities and costs.
• Ensure compliance with all HSE&S procedures and regulations.
• Foster communication and teamwork within the team, engaging employees at all levels.

Autonomy and Expertise

As our Engineering Manager, you'll have a high level of autonomy to make decisions independently, serving as the site's subject matter expert for Good Engineering Practices and regulations. You'll drive projects from concept through startup, utilizing your expertise to guide the team towards success.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical preferred).
• 7+ years of engineering experience, ideally in chemistry/coatings/resin plants.
• Experience with DCS platforms, especially ABB, is preferred.
• Strong background in implementing OSHA PSM and leading hazard study reviews.
• Demonstrated expertise in process improvements and structured methodologies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Power BI/SharePoint.
• Exceptional communication skills and direct people management experience preferred.
• Strong technical writing skills and experience managing technical document databases.

Compensation/Benefits

The salary range for these skills is: $90,000 to $105,000. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
