Our client is currently seeking a full-time Infectious Disease Physician in the San Diego, CA area that might be of interest to you!
This position will provide support and/or direction for the execution of clinical research protocols, may also be referred to as the Site Lead, and be at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor.
Responsibilities
Designs, directs, and participates in clinical research protocols in conjunction with active-duty investigators, research physicians, and other scientists; develops a network of collaborating investigators and partners locally and regionally.
Directs and participates in the development and submission of clinical research protocols and other documentation to the Institutional Review Board (IRB), local human research protection program, sponsors, monitors, and/or Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Qualifications:
Doctoral Degree- MD
Minimum of 3-5 years' experience required
Licensure to practice medicine within the continental United States.
Board certified or board eligible for certification in the specialty associated with the clinical research program.
Need someone fresh out fellowship, someone in their first job looking for a second.
Must be US Citizen
Must be an Infectious Diseases Physician to support the infectious diseases fellowship program.
Important Notes:
Support for IDCRP research at the site - Helping to oversee staff and making sure everything on track.
Ability to go outside of the hospital, to be interactive and supportive with other groups, centers, military population. Not just on site.
Prior military experience is nice to have.
At least some research experience or someone who is interested in research.
This is not a clinical job, however there will be 4-8 weeks clinic hours a year required to maintain license.
Minimal travel for conferences
Team of 6-8, site manager, several coordinators, reg affairs. Site manager reports the research physician. Physicians oversee the research activities and site manager support.
