We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Full-year Intern to join our Identity and Access Management (IAM) team at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM). This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with leading IAM technologies including Okta, CyberArk, and SailPoint, providing support for incident and service request tickets, and fulfilling audit requirements.

Please Note:

  • This is a paid full-year internship; the intern would work part-time while school is in session and full-time during the summer - only candidates that are able to work this type of schedule should apply.
  • Hybrid work structure, which requires working minimum one day per week on-site at our downtown Detroit office. We provide free parking within structure that is directly connected to our building.
More About the Role

This Full Year Internship - Identity and Access Management (IAM)opportunity will involve:
  • Participate in IAM related mirroring/hands-on/on-demand training programs to enhance expertise and knowledge in identity management systems (Okta, SailPoint and CyberArk) based on skills. Stay updated with the latest trends and security practices within the IAM landscape.
  • Support & Maintenance: Assist in daily operations of IAM platforms-Okta, CyberArk, and SailPoint; Respond to and resolve incident and service request tickets related to identity and access management within established SLAs. Monitor and maintain the health of IAM systems, performing regular maintenance and updates as required.
  • Project Contribution: Contribute to a(n) IAM project(s), including upgrades and new implementations, by assisting with project plans, testing, and deployment phases.
  • Audit and Compliance: Support audit and compliance activities by collecting and analyzing IAM system data/evidence as required. Assist in preparing reports and documentation to demonstrate compliance with security policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate with IT and business units to understand access needs and help troubleshoot access-related issues. Engage with teams to ensure a seamless implementation of IAM best practices across the organization.

  • Participate in departmental meetings and events (e.g., monthly Diversity and Inclusion events, department wide team building events, weekly meetings to ensure team alignment, etc.)
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Current undergraduate or graduate student with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
  • Interns must be enrolled in a four-year college/university or a Master's/PhD program for the duration of the internship.
  • Basic understanding of identity and access management concepts and security practices.
  • Familiarity with IAM tools such as Okta, CyberArk, or SailPoint is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, overall technical aptitude.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Responsible for maintaining confidential information to the highest degree.
