EGL Genetic Diagnostics LLC is searching for a Laboratory Director, Biochemical Genetics in Tucker GA .

Laboratory Director, Biochemical Genetics responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :

• Review and interpret clinical genetic testing results in relevant specialties.

• Provide technical supervision of lab procedures, including monitoring of appropriate test indication, related test procedures and troubleshooting.

• Ensure application of a comprehensive quality management program.

• Monitor and evaluate key indicators of the quality of the analytical testing process.

• Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP and relevant state guidelines.

• Communicate with physicians, genetic counselors and other healthcare providers about appropriate testing, abnormal results and follow-up.

The ideal candidate would possess :

• Familiarity with clinical lab testing requirements and operations, including quality control, training, and documentation; method development or implementation experience is desirable.

• Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills

• Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude

• Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies

• Strong leadership, initiative, and teambuilding skills

Basic Minimum Qualifications :

• Ph.D. or M.D. degree (or equivalent).

• ABMGG certification (or active candidate status) in the subspecialty, Biochemical Genetics.

o Or American Board of Clinical Chemistry certification (or candidate status).

• Excellent communication skills with written and spoken English.

• Experience with biochemical genetics testing methodologies.

• Note that individuals with dual certification in Biochemical Genetics and Molecular Genetics (or LGG) will be accommodated.

• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Tucker, Georgia are encouraged to apply.
