Location/Division Specific Information:

Our Hillsboro site produces world-class electron microscopes used by scientists and engineers to drive innovation around the globe. This role works to produce-high quality components used in the world's finest tools used by researches like Nobel prize winners and the teams who imaged the COVID-19 virus.

With such an important global mission statement our Test Technicians reinforce our Quality Culture through product testing to ensure that Customers across the world receive the highest quality best performing products possible!

A Day in the Life:

  • Optimize output of tools by ensuring proper prioritizing per build plan projections
  • Using fixturing and precision fluid applicator to meet exacting specifications
  • Collect and analyze data to make process decisions.
  • Perform wide variety of troubleshooting to identify issues. Balance problem solving with meeting production needs.
  • Perform process tool set-up, calibration and preventative maintenance.
  • Rebuild manufacturing equipment when needed to ensure operability.
  • Communicate across shifts about daily progress and facilitate escalation of issues
Education:
  • Bachelor of sciences or technical degrees preferred.
  • Equivalent military background or a combination of equivalent experience to demonstrate required skills also recognized.
Experience:
  • At least 10 plus total years of manufacturing or mechanical technician experience is required.
  • Background in precision PMs with chambers - example PVC/ CVD tools, sophisticated manufacturing processes is preferred.
  • Previous experience using test equipment preferred (ex: digital multimeters, oscilloscopes)
  • Experience in lean manufacturing, 5S and continuous improvement is a plus.
  • Experience with Windows-based and MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook and Access) is required
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Ability to read detailed drawings and perform basic troubleshooting of electronic and mechanical assemblies at the component and system level
  • Proven ability in successfully working in a team of 8-10 colleagues
  • Ability to coach and mentor other technicians
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment using appropriate PPE
  • Able to follow detailed work instructions and successfully complete assigned tasks
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems independently as well as collaboratively
  • Ability to support projects and perform training as a lead technician
  • Self-motivated, self-starter with strong organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills, successful in partnering with colleagues of differing cultural, language and educational backgrounds
  • Able to pivot and keep track of previous steps while maintaining two different process tools
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
  • Ability to lift up to 35lbs
  • Ability to sit or stand for an 8-hour shift
  • 2nd shift hours: 2-10:30PM
