Responsible for the treatment of patients with sensory or motor deficits which mobility or functional performance of gross motor activities. Performs the initial evaluation of the patient & provides follow up treatment & feedback to the staff therapist to effectively plan for discharge. Minimum Education Required
2-Year College Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Completion of approved education curriculum as a physical therapy assistant State of Ohio licensure.

Additional Information:The staff physical therapy assistant is responsible for treatment of sensory or motor deficits that impair the patient's mobility or functional performance of gross motor activities. The staff PT performs the initial evaluation of the assigned patient and the LPTA is a member of the Rehabilitation Department and is an integral component of the interdisciplinary medical team that strives to return the patient to his/her highest level of functional independence.
Position Summary The staff physical therapy assistant treats all patients of assigned rotations, in addition to providing cross coverage of the department's other rotations and the Rehabilitation Division's other locations/sites as need dictates. This position works under the direct supervision of the Clinical Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities Possesses general background knowledge of disease processes and effects of mobility/strength/endurance. Must also possess knowledge and skills in the treatment of specific surgical and medical diagnoses.

Practices within the Medical Center's policies and procedures. Adheres to the Intensive Caring Value statements as demonstrated through positive patient/guest relations, positive and effective interactions with staff, and formulating and meeting developmental goals. Maintains infection control standards and implements appropriate patient safety.
Patient Populations Served:
This position will serve our general medicine, geriatric, abdominal organ transplant, cardiovascular and pulmonary progressive care, and medical intensive care populations.
