Your Role:

As a Maintenance Planner you will minimize cost and maximize efficiency of maintenance work activities in a fast paced and dynamic work environment. You will collaborate with the maintenance and operations supervisors and engineers to ensure effective schedules are developed and executed in a timely manner. The Maintenance Planner will fully develop the scope of work of all correctives, preventive and outage work orders. Responsibilities include:

  • Review all maintenance notifications with operations to confirm intent, production impact, priority, and equipment availability.
  • Review drawings, specifications, manuals, and preventative maintenance tasks to fully develop scope of work.
  • Ensure materials are available in the designated staging area.
  • Assemble kits using MRO procurement tools and site stocked parts and materials.
  • Maintain a well-organized staging area.
  • Ensure SAP inventory accuracy.
  • Facilitate daily and weekly scheduling meetings using SAP and Excel for manpower allocation, reporting, and scheduling.
  • Distribute information electronically daily.
  • Review and confirm backlog work order status with the Maintenance and Operations Supervisors.
  • Balance new work orders with backlog orders to generate an effective daily and weekly work schedule adhering to the facility production priorities.
  • Strive to maximize wrench time, reduce delays, and minimize lost time.
  • Recommend work force movement based on daily workload, backlog, special jobs, and/or emergency needs.
  • Review completed work order craft activities in SAP to ensure all recorded issues are resolved.
  • Work with the Reliability Engineer to continually improve and identify opportunities for new preventive maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate walk-through on all major jobs, especially outage work, to ensure scope is understood by all parties.
  • Maintain and update equipment files as needed.
  • Actively participate in plant and departmental safety programs to promote and enforce safety rules and good housekeeping methods.

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5+ years hands-on work experience in a skilled trade such as, Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation, Welding, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with maintenance planning
  • Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Controls
  • Expert knowledge in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of P&ID's, PFD's, mechanical and electrical prints.
  • Experience in maintenance or operations within a chemical plant environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with capability of interacting with multi-discipline teams including plant operators, maintenance crafts, engineers, and management.
  • Knowledge of SAP.
