SUMMARY
Engaged in setting up, installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment, and in fabricating metal parts and tools by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING.
- electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.
- diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
- dismantling, assembling, and installing industrial machinery.
- Orders and keeps supply of spare parts.
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew. Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
- Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
- Performs activities of workers supervised.
- Uses 5S to ensure that tools and equipment are housed properly and inventory is organized.
- Active member and participant in Safety Committee
- Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Directly supervises employees in Maintenance. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.
SAFETY AND REGULATIONS Responsible for ensuring that proper rules and regulations are followed. Guidelines set forth by OSHA, FDEP AND NCDEQ, as well as in house procedures on safety, production and housekeeping must be upheld and enforced.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to complete reports and forms associated with the position: Ability to communicate effectively orally, and in writing
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusion. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
