Role Description
Medical Affairs
Zoetis Petcare Medical Affairs is composed of a group of talented therapeutic medical experts who partner with marketing brand managers to develop strategies for the brands they support, lead medical strategies, data generation plans and educational projects, and are the medical experts in reviewing and creating educational and advertising/promotional materials for the Petcare line of innovative new and marketed products/services. This role is highly collaborative, working in a matrixed environment with numerous internal and external stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Marketing Brand Support
- Proactively work with the brand marketing and medical team members on medical insights and messaging that inform strategic development and implementation of brand marketing plans and product responses to competitors for both on-market and future innovative product launches.
- Lead/co-lead the Therapeutic Focus Group team of veterinary colleagues.
- Create and/or guide agency or Key Opinion Leader (KOL) generated technical content for products across the aligned portfolio; participate as a subject matter expert in the medical review of brand aligned content within the Copy Review and Clearance process.
- Develop cross-portfolio expertise to provide collaborative and coordinated medical support that aligns to business needs and market dynamics.

Collaborative Partnerships With Customers and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs)
- Partner with Dermatology Medical Strategy Director to contribute to, or lead if delegated, key tactical customer activities and meetings based on brand strategy plans (e.g., advisory board meetings, speakers' bureaus, professional association relationship management, KOL development and engagement, segmented customer education/training)
- Collaborate with Veterinary Professional Services teams to identify new KOLs as well as help support these relationships from the field level.

Study Development with VMRD & External Key Opinion Leaders
- Contribute to assessment and identification of technical/medical and business gaps and needs for assigned products.
- Fulfill identified and delegated liaison relationships with key animal health organizations critical to the product/therapeutic area supported to promote and enhance the image of Zoetis.
- Identify future trends and marketplace dynamics and work across functional teams to contribute to data generation/study plans [Phase IV (studies to support marketed products), Phase III studies (new claims), Outcomes Research] to address these needs, monitor progress, milestones, and budget.

Internal Customers: Partnerships and Training/Education
- Advise and assist Learning and Development with both strategic focus and tactical pull through of technical content within training programs and materials to assure consistency and clarity of key marketing messages and the medical appropriateness of product usage.
- Identify needs for new and enhanced technical presentations and assume a leadership role in their development and communication to internal colleagues of all levels.

Required Education/Experience
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent
- Advanced degree, specialized training, or research experience a plus
- 7+ years of combined clinical and industry experience

- Skilled at technical content creation
- Strong strategic/analytical thinking, problem solving skills, and attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with various stakeholders
- Ability to work and navigate in an environment of regulatory and legal processes
- Excellent judgment in conflict management and influence
Travel Requirements- This position may require up to 25-30% of travel for industry conferences, professional meetings, and collaboration key internal/external key stakeholders.
