Basic Job Functions:
The Melt Cast Shift Supervisor is an integral member of the leadership team and must demonstrate the values that make up the Nucor culture. Responsibilities include but are not limited to leading and developing the team with respect to safety, quality, costs, productivity, and profitability. This position supervises production and maintenance activities, trains and coaches hourly team members, manages projects, and performs administrative duties. The supervisor provides a line of communication to ensure efficient operations. Working a rotating shift including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime is required.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Leadership experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least two years of melting and or casting experience
- Four-year technical degree
- Previous supervisory experience
