The Role

Supervises employees who test and/or inspect products to determine compliance with specifications.

Seeking a highly motivated, energetic individual to lead X67 structural teams for RCOH, Sub-Fleet Support, VCS PSA, CVN inactivation.

The Inspection Chief will be responsible for leading structural teams supporting multiple contracts and programs, as well as ensuring quality work across multiple shifts. Manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders to ensure quality and safety standards are met and that inspection are being performed as scheduled within contract specifications. Liaise with trades and project management to control cost performance within AOR, to include determination of overtime requirements and identification/management of cost drivers. Assess safety risks within AOR and develop mitigations plans as appropriate. Ability to obtain a DoD clearance.

Must Have

Apprentice graduate, Bachelor's Degree or equivalent and 6 years of applicable technical experience. 4 years of related exempt experience can be substituted for Bachelor's degree. A minimum of 2 years as a Supervisor Test Inspection 1 or equivalent positon plus a minimum of 8 years related non-exempt experience can be substituted for a Bachelor's degree and experience.

Nice to Have

Prior inspection experience and/or knowledge of structural RCOH, Sub-Fleet Support, VCS PSA, CVN Inactivation experience is preferred.

Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Strong leadership skills, be able to interpret and understand drawings/methods/procedures, analyze Inspection Reports/Engineering Reports, train Supervisors and build metrics to measure performance. The ability to read and interpret blueprints or engineering drawings highly preferred.

Applicant should have the ability to climb tall ladders, crawl tanks/bilges in confined spaces, and work in adverse environment conditions.

Applicant should have the ability to access tight or confined spaces by crawling, bending, stooping, and squatting.

Applicant should have the ability to access elevated and recessed areas with the use of ladders.
