The Opportunity

We are seeking a Full-Time, 36-hour Nurse Practitioner to join our Primary Care team for a six-month Residency Program. Our clinic is located at 1 Hutchinson Drive, Danvers, MA 01923.

The demand for highly skilled, competent Nurse Practitioners is on the rise, especially in primary care. However, transitioning from a graduate program to autonomous practice can be challenging for new NPs due to the complexities of patient care and the ever-evolving healthcare landscape. To bridge this gap and help ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality care, Mass General Brigham is launching a pilot NP Residency Program for newly graduated NPs. The NP Residency Program Pilot represents a proactive approach to addressing the transition from education to practice for newly graduated NPs. By providing structured clinical experiences, mentorship, educational support, and exposure to specialties, the program aims to empower NP Residents to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care and contribute to the advancement of healthcare delivery. Bottom of Form

The NP Resident will have 1-2 primary preceptors (ideally, an experienced NP and a physician),1-3 secondary preceptors and will undergo rotations in various clinical specialties, including urgent care, women's health, nephrology, endocrinology, cardiology, gastroenterology, and other specialty areas based on individual interests and organizational needs. Regular educational sessions will cover topics such as pharmacology, evidence-based practice, healthcare policy, cultural competency, and advanced clinical skills.

The NP Residency Program will provide newly graduated NPs with several key professional development benefits:

  • Enhanced Clinical Competence: The NP Resident will gain proficiency in assessing, diagnosing, and managing a wide range of patient conditions under the guidance of experienced preceptors.
  • Development: The program will provide opportunities for the NP resident to refine their communication skills, build confidence, and develop leadership abilities essential for success in his/her NP career.
  • Networking Opportunities: The NP resident will establish connections with healthcare professionals across various specialties, laying the foundation for future collaboration and career advancement.
  • Improved Patient Outcomes: By investing in the professional development of newly graduated NPs, the residency program will ultimately contribute to the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care and improved healthcare outcomes.
Are you ready to bring your talent to this team and join us in driving medicine forward? In this full-time role, you will have access to a competitive benefits package tailored to meet your needs!
