Job Summary:
This position provides emergency care at the scene of an accident or other emergency. Responsibilities involve preparation for response, response, delivery of care, transportation, documentation, and post response duties. Also attends to patients being transported by ambulance on non-emergency calls and is responsible for the patient's safety in route. Responsible for performing an initial assessment of the scene and patient including obtaining a brief targeted history and completing a physical exam. Recognizes and evaluates patients who require immediate attention and when necessary initiates emergency life saving treatment. Delivers and/or supervises the delivery of emergency patient care such as administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation, oxygen and resuscitation with an ambu bag. Intubates when necessary. Inserts IVs and administers medication according to physician order or ACLS protocol. Also may participate in life safety programs, community awareness programs, and other programs as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned.

- Financial Stewardship: Maintains accurate supply levels does not use equipment for purposes other than those for which they are intended. Maintains vehicles in good working order and uses the vehicle with due regard. Performs daily Preventative maintenance checks.
- Problem Solving: Under pressure must be able to analyze problems to identify underlying issues and determine a course of action for care of patient.
- Key Role/Responsibility
- Quality/Safety: Must adhere to safety policies and procedures and act in a safe manner at all times in less than safe conditions including accident scenes or businesses and homes.
- Job Knowledge: Acts within the appropriate guidelines and scope of practice for the Paramedic role. Does not operate outside of the scope without on-line medical direction from the ED physician.

- Communication: Must be able to communicate verbally in what may be perceived as crisis situations with team members, patients, and family members to produce quality interaction.
- Teamwork: with EMT or Paramedic partner must work together to form solutions to unique problems respecting the input of their team member and coming to a common goal.
Required Minimum Education:High School graduate Required or
GED High School graduate or possess a General Educational Development (GED) Degree Graduation from an accredited paramedic training program. Required

Pediatric Adv Life Support Required
Advanced Cardiac Life Support Required

Required Minimum Experience:Completion of accredited paramedic program and associated clinical hours. Required and
Minimum 2 years experience as a paramedic in the field or in a hospital setting Preferred
Required Minimum Skills:Ability to read, write and speak English language, optimize the use of technology to support clinical care and holds basic computer skills;
Strong interpersonal, collaborative skills along with customer service skills required;
Ability to function in a fast paced environment and respond to emergencies in using a decisive, composed and respectful manner;
