Position Overview:

The Pressure Equipment Integrity (PEI) Inspector supports the Production Team for Turnarounds and day-to-day activities for their assigned production unit.

Responsibilities:

  • Assure pressure equipment integrity, safety, and reliability by assessing the effects of corrosion or other deleterious processes on equipment.
  • Assign the inspection interval for pressure equipment (vessels, columns, piping, exchangers, etc.) in assigned unit and inspect/monitor the condition of equipment using appropriate strategies and tools to detect potential damage mechanisms.
  • Provide assurance that design specification for pressure equipment is met.
  • Investigate and document all failures of pressure equipment to determine the cause or suspected cause and mitigations to prevent future failures.
  • Participate in operating team meetings, work planning groups, risk assessments, MOCs and review meetings as required.

Experience and Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent education
  • Must have two out of the following three API Certifications:
    • API 510
    • API 570
    • API 653
  • Must have working knowledge in the following.
    • SAP
    • IMS (Integrity Management System)
    • API RBI & S-RBI
  • 5+ years of experience working as an inspector at a refining or petrochemical facility
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Basic Microsoft Word and Excel skills

Physical Requirements:
  • Willing and able to work outside in inclement weather with or without accommodation
  • Willing and able to work in compact and confined spaces with or without accommodation
  • Must be willing and able to climb and work at heights, walk on high elevation grating and to walk up and down stairs with or without accommodation
  • Motiva emphasizes safety in all phases of its business, therefore, with proper training, you must be willing and able to use safe lifting techniques to lift 50 pounds from the ground to waist level with or without accommodation
  • Must be willing and able to work in self-contained breathing apparatus

This role is subject to a pre-hire physical abilities test.
