Performsvenipunctures, arterial punctures, and capillary sampling to obtain bloodsamples for laboratory testing. Collects urine sample for analysis. Documents collection and processed specimens effectively. Supports thegeneral operations of the Laboratory. Enters orders for testing andaccessions specimens in the computer system.
Environmental Hazards: Possible exposure to hazardous material, hot and cold, blood borne pathogens. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry 8-10 pounds, stoop, reach, stand, walk, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see, and perform repetitive motions with or without reasonable accommodations. Required:
-HighSchool Diploma or GED.
-6 monthsrelated phlebotomy experience with children.
-Valid Oklahoma Driver License Required.
Skills, Proficiencies, and Knowledge:
-Skill in delivery ofpatient care and procedures; phlebotomy, sample collection, and direct patientcare.
-Knowledge of medical terminology.
-Excellent communication andinterpersonal skills.
-Computer literacy required.
-Ability to learn newprocesses, tools, and equipment as required.
