In order to ensure your application is complete, you must complete the following:Job Summary: Physician specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation to serve as a member of the Division of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation within the Department of Internal Medicine; directs and provides direct and indirect patient care services in both inpatient and outpatient settings; conducts ambulatory clinics; interviews, obtains and reviews medical history of patients; performs physical examinations to assess medical or surgical needs; performs relevant specialty procedures; orders special procedures, diagnostic testing, and other ancillary services; responds to consultation requests; determines, prescribes and implements treatment plans and/or medications required; documents all services and instructions provided in medical record; educates patients and promotes wellness, prevention and early detection by providing materials, resources and services to patient and their families; directs and participates in quality assessment and improvement activities; serves as preceptor and provides bedside training of residents, fellows, medical students, undergraduate & graduate students, nursing staff, and other allied medical professionals in specialty area; ensures continuing medical education requirements are met; participates in department, college, medical center and university committees and other service activities.
Required Qualifications: Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO). Board certification or eligibility from the American Board of Internal Medicine required; active certification from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) required. Completion of an accredited residency in internal medicine and a fellowship training program in physical medicine and rehabilitation required. Advanced training or board certification in Pain Management.
