As a Power Engineer, a typical day might include the following:

• Design, prototype, and test systems and components integral to substation switchgears.
  
• Maintain a detailed understanding of electric power systems and how to protect, monitor and control the power system.
  
• Conceive and develop concepts for new product ideas and enhancements.
  
• Lead in providing power engineering support for customers & field application engineers.
  
• Model, teach, and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operation and World Class Manufacturing principles.
  

Note: United States Citizenship is required.

This job might be for you if:

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  
• Excellent technical training, speaking and writing skills
  
• Experience leading a portion of a project
  
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
  
• Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
  
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
  
• Background check results satisfactory to SEL
  
• Negative drug test result(s)
  
• U.S. Citizenship status
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of SEL products
  
• Understanding of substation switchgears and internal components
  
• Experience in power system modeling
  
• Proficient in programming, utilizing languages such as C++ or Python
  
• Experience in finite element analysis simulation

Pay Range Data

We anticipate filling this position as a Power Engineer $88,000 -$108,000.

We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the salary range may differ if filled at a different level. Our salary ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
