Summary of Role:

Develop and provide design manual technology specifications for internal teams and external customers.
Typically performs one or more of the following in capacity of either an individual contributor (as directed and/or independently), or as a manager:

Essential Responsibilities:

Responsible for Front End of Line (FEOL), Middle of Line (MOL) and Back End of Line (BEOL) design rule development and definition.

  • Candidates will have to work closely with device and process integration engineers to align technology requirements, process assumptions and design rules to provide a unified technology definition.
  • Detailed understanding of semiconductor technology process flows is required.
  • Candidates will be required to use simulation/calculation tools for variation analysis to determine design rule values and margins. Worst case analysis will be required and the candidate will be responsible for integration agreement to these values and the interaction of design rules with logic, analog, and RF design.
  • The candidate will be required to work with designers, design enablement and device/PCell engineers to develop special requests. The candidate will be expected to drive these topics independently and produce high quality design rule sets with full fail-mode analysis.
  • The candidate will be expected to have discipline to follow established business processes and procedures, define a process assumption and design rule validation priority list working with GLOBALFOUNDRIES fab integration team for design rule validation.
  • Familiarity with design rule challenges from both process and design viewpoints are essential.
  • The candidate will develop, evaluate, validate and manage the change process associated with design rules and be involved in the early stages of technology definition to define technology requirements and parametric goals in line with GLOBALFOUNDRIES microprocessor performance roadmap and product offerings.
  • The candidate will need to have a deep understanding of technology design rules, electrical design rules and reliability contents of the design manual and serve as the interface between external customers, design enablement teams and technology development teams.
  • A record of innovation for process/design enablement solutions is desired (patents and paper publishing). The candidate will be expected to work in a dynamic development environment and always strive to improve methodologies and knowledge through innovation.
  • Candidates should have a deep knowledge of the following:
  • • Semiconductor device physics.
  • • Processes technology and design rule development for advanced technologies. Experience working with FinFET, RFSOI, Silicon Photonics and FDSOI related technology issues/definitions is preferred.
  • • Have design customer interaction experience.
  • • Understanding of process and design layout interaction.
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with Chip design development workflow, verification flows.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, energetic self-starter with demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience and knowledge in design tools, physical layout design and design/process interaction.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and project management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments.
  • Design for manufacturing experience and programming skills are desirable.
  • Knowledge of COVENTOR or SPX 3D process simulation tools.
  • Knowledge of Cadence, Calibre and other industry standard design EDA tools.
  • Familiarity with Python, SVRF, Tcl will be greatly beneficial.

Expected Salary Range
$77,000.00 - $142,000.00
