Job Opportunity: Printing Operations Manager

Location: Methuen, MA

Salary: $90,000 - $120,000

Our client is looking for a Printing Operations Manager to oversee and lead a dynamic printing and converting department of approximately 25 employees. This key role supports a facility producing up to 20,000 tons of folding cartons annually across multiple printing presses and converting equipment, generating up to $50M in revenue. The ideal candidate will champion initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and productivity while driving operational efficiency and employee engagement.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead efforts to boost productivity and reduce waste through innovative process improvements and projects.
• Drive labor efficiency by optimizing staffing levels and managing overtime.
• Implement lean manufacturing practices to maximize throughput and streamline operations.
• Manage and provide direction for printing processes, ensuring alignment with operational goals.
• Partner with scheduling teams to organize and prioritize workflows effectively.
• Oversee raw material inventory and cost-saving initiatives.
• Facilitate onboarding of new business and ensure seamless integration into production workflows.
• Supervise, train, and support a team of non-union hourly employees, fostering a collaborative environment.
• Promote a safe working environment and maintain compliance with safety and quality standards, including SQF and ISO certifications.
• Act as a liaison with customers, addressing concerns and ensuring satisfaction.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (preferred).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a folding carton printing environment.
• Background in lean methodologies, continuous improvement, or Six Sigma (preferred).
• Familiarity with industry compliance standards such as SQF and HACCP.
• Proven leadership skills with experience managing and motivating teams.
• Technical expertise in printing and converting processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
