Cenovus is seeking a Process Shift Supervisor for our Superior, WI refinery. The Process Shift Supervisor (PSS) is responsible and accountable for the performance of his/her team and safe and compliant operation of their area. They will also focus on optimizing unit rates and maintaining high production quality.

What you'll do:

  • Manage team and individual performance, ensuring safe operations while meeting production targets. Monitor operating data to ensure environmental objectives are being met.
  • Participate as a member of Emergency Response Team (ERT) and attain On-Scene Commander Status.
  • Monitor task completion and safety awareness by visiting work sites, at ground level and at varying heights, to assess progress. Regularly monitor operator reports to ensure all needed items/issues are identified to complete an adequate shift turnover.
  • Conduct team start of shift safety meeting, ensuring all applicable topics are covered and understood by the oncoming shift. Regularly audit shift relief, operator rounds, and employee fitness for service. Lead and participate in regular unit what if drills, process drills, and site-wide emergency drills.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure unit cleanliness is maintained, caps and plugs installed, car seals present, general compliance with refinery rules, etc.
  • Ensure operations troubleshooting is adequate and if maintenance work notifications are required, ensure that they are correctly entered into SAP by operators.
  • Discuss and coordinate operational direction and daily maintenance activities in detail with operators.
  • Ensure units are operated within all known regulatory limits: EOL, SOL, ROL, etc.
Who you are:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience/knowledge of reforming, fluidized catalytic cracking, hydrotreating, alkylation, and/ or distillation.
  • 10 years of related experience
Preferred:
  • Strong working knowledge of all applicable industry rules and regulations, including Occupational Safety Health Act (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT).
  • Good working knowledge of process flow diagrams.
  • Proficient with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Proficient with SAP or other business enterprise software.
  • Knowledge and skilled in COIMS
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree
  • Recent supervisory experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of the refinery union contract and sound personnel management skills.
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus toward continuous improvement.
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment dealing with people from various disciplines to achieve goals and to identify and resolve problems.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills to set and exceed established goals, schedules and deadlines
  • The ability to effectively communicate, both in writing and verbally, with other levels of management and with direct reports.
