This position provides application, business process and technical leadership for two segments within Caterpillar's business. The first is Indirect Procurement that Applications such as Coupa, GEP Elevate, and Beeline. The second is Global Facilities that has a focus on Archibus. The incumbent will help manage applications including driving upgrades, implementing improvements, assist with deployments to new user's groups, and oversee support services provided by a third party. This includes all aspects of the deployment process or software development lifecycle. The selected candidate will engage with business partners to understand and work with a variety of teams located globally to implement.

What You Will Do:

  • This position reports to an Information Technology Manager.
  • The position will be responsible for managing IT controls, act as a subject matter expert on major projects, and manage issues with development and support teams.
  • Provide leadership to Application Managed Service Team, Service Level Manager.
  • Understand and help resolve issues that create reoccurring support tickets.
  • Takes initiative of complex solutions and engage with business partners to gain buy in to meet overall business objectives.
  • Ensure all IT controls are being followed.
  • Deploy changes to Coupa.
  • Be a subject matter expert on projects.
  • Create and maintain architecture artifacts appropriate to document and communicate solution design and connectivity.
  • Understand and implement integration with data platforms such as Snowflake.
What You Will Have:

Core Application Systems: Knowledge of major production application systems used for delivery of services to internal and external clients; ability to leverage major production application systems in diverse situations.
Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
Application Design, Architecture: Knowledge of basic activities and deliverables of application design; ability to utilize application design methodologies, tools and techniques to convert business requirements and logical models into a technical application design.
Implementation: Knowledge of how to run applications for organizations; ability to implement application software within an organization and help end-users perform specific tasks (ex: accounting or graphic design).
Requirements Analysis: Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.
System and Technology Integration: Knowledge of the features and facilities of systems; ability to integrate and communicate among applications, databases and technology platforms.
System Testing: Knowledge of system and software testing; ability to design, plan and execute system testing strategies and tactics to ensure the quality of software at all stages of the system life cycle.
Technical Troubleshooting: Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware, software, application or operation.

Considerations For Top Candidates:
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business or related field, OR 5 years of relevant experience.
  • 3 years of experience developing and supporting large IT applications.
  • Analytical, problem solving, and project and technical leadership skills.
  • Effective communicator, in written and oral form, with English language fluency.
  • Ability to work with teams located globally.
  • Experience working with Coupa, GEP, or Archibus.
  • Experience with integration technologies such as Datastage or Snaplogic.
  • Knowledge and experience of Agile based project management tools such as DevOps.
  • Experience managing data platform such as Snowflake.
  • Procurement, Financial Systems or Internet of Things (IoT) experience.
  • Experience working with IT Controls/Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance.
