RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce's client, a Detroit, MI-based automotive manufacturer who brings engineering, technology, and design together to create innovative vehicles, energy solutions, and in-vehicle services is seeking a Production Supervisor.Summary:The main function of a Production Supervisor is to supervise and coordinate the activities of production and operating workers.Responsibilities:
  • Production Supervisor will recommend measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency
  • Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems
  • Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, and maintenance to detect production problems
  • As a Production Supervisor, you will hire, train, evaluate, and discharge staff, and resolve personal grievances
  • Prepare and maintain production reports and personnel records


REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Business or related field preferred
  • 5-7 years of experience required
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models
  • Verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage one's time
Possess good physical stamina and coordination; Specific physical requirements of the position include the ability to:
  • Walk and stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Read standardized work instructions, operate machines and tools, and perform quality inspections
  • Promptly detect and respond to safety instructions, alarms, and signals
  • Wear personal protective equipment, for example: safety glasses, gloves, hats, ear plugs, and safety shoes
  • Work in a loud manufacturing environment that is not climate controlled (conditions can be hot or cold)
Frequently and repetitively:
  • Bend, twist, kneel, crouch and reach to perform work
  • Lift or carry materials weighing up to 15 pounds and periodically carry or lift materials weighing up to 40 pounds
Preferred Skills:
  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement Processes (CIP)
  • Proficient in Throughput Improvement Process (TIP)
  • Advanced understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes


The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
