Stark Neurosciences Research Institute's mission is to bring together the scientific community in a dynamic, collaborative organization that advances discovery of neuroscience-related disease mechanisms and therapeutic strategies, as well as disseminates and applies this knowledge to prevent, treat and cure disease. Stark Neurosciences Research Institute's research is not only reflected across departments at IU School of Medicine, but at several universities and institutions.

Job Summary

Department-Specific Responsibilities

  • Assists with the administrative operations of the Stark Neurosciences Research Institute's (SNRI) Research Facilities and Operations Team.
  • Triages concerns from faculty, staff, or trainees by assessing the issue/concern and escalate to the appropriate leader(s).
  • Assists with submitting maintenance requests for all facilities.
  • Assists with scheduling and organizing meeting space, facilitates room set-up, meets caterers, provides parking guidance, etc.
  • Represents the Research Facilities and Operations Team at the monthly SNRI Admin and Operations Meetings and serve on various other committees.
General Responsibilities
  • Conducts research and compiles materials and information for departmental programs.
  • Prepares records of program activities; oversees and ensures the timely processing and delivery of required materials.
  • Reviews the policies and procedures involved in departmental programs; suggests improvements; and ensures that rules comply with university standards.
  • Analyzes data and information generated or produced by program; writes reports and other written materials based on this data.
  • Verifies the accuracy of all data and information used or generated by program; resolves any discrepancies or problems.
  • Responds to requests for program information by staff, students, and faculty; handles any necessary correspondence.
  • Serves as liaison for department; coordinates activities and exchanges information.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)
WORK EXPERIENCE

Required
  • 4 years of related work experience

Working Conditions / Demands

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
