NOTE: This is a remote position with an expectation to be onsite 1-2x/year. This is a contract to hire position.
One of our clients in San Diego,California is looking for a Project Manager specializing in health information technology, particularly within the pharmacy benefits management (PBM) or pharmaceutical insurance sector.
Project Manager - Pharmacy/PBM Standards Conversion
Projects:
- Leading the conversion from F5 to F6 Standards within NCPDP (National Council for Prescription Drug Programs).
Key Requirements:

Pharma Experience: Strong background in Pharmacy, PBM, or related Pharma Insurance.
- Specifically looking for candidates who transitioned standards from F4 to F5 between 2010-2012.
- NCPDP and Claims Experience:
- Deep familiarity with NCPDP standards.
- Experience with claims processing.
- Project Management Experience:
- 8-10 years of direct project management experience handling large to complex projects within health information technology or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in pharmacy benefits management, disease management, healthcare, or managed care environment.
- Proven experience in helping the business develop and write requirements.
Skills and Abilities:

Multidisciplinary Experience: Experience in one or more of the following areas is a plus: Software Engineering, Product Development, Finance, Operations.
- Lifecycle and Methodologies:
- Highly knowledgeable in product and project lifecycles and methodologies.
- Continuous quality improvement and change management.
- IT Systems Knowledge:
- Thorough understanding of IT systems, applications, databases, architecture, and software development lifecycle.
- Financial Acumen:
- Ability to read and understand financial data such as product income statements, ROI analysis, net-present value analysis.
- Operations Knowledge:
- General knowledge of operations, including scheduling, procurement, manufacturing, test engineering, and quality systems.
- Agile Methodologies:
- Knowledge and experience with Agile project management methodologies preferred.
- Proven Track Record:
- Clear history of achieving project goals.
Educational and Professional Credentials:
- Education:
- Master's degree preferred.
- Certifications:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
