POSITION TITLE: QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER

REPORTS TO: OPERATIONS MANAGER

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Anticipate, plan and develop organizational structure and human resource needs for the Quality function in support of the strategic plan of the Company.
  • Facilitate or lead cross-functional teams to accomplish and execute objectives established by the Company.
  • Recruit, train directly, or provide opportunity for training to all employees in the Quality department and does so commensurate with the specific need of the employee and the goals and objectives of the Company.
  • Plan, define and develop quality goals in accordance with the Company's objectives and direct the formulation, communication and delegation of those objectives into meaningful task-oriented action plans.
  • Teach, train and direct all manufacturing employees in improved quality methods to increase production and efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Facilitate new product introduction with quality and manufacturing personnel and, including SPC documentation as required to meet customer requirements.
  • Develop, manage and maintain the company's Quality Manual and quality management system in accordance with AS9100 and ISO 9001 requirements. Coordinate and assist the operational and administrative departments in the implementation and execution of the specific policies, procedures and systems defined in the Company Quality Assurance Manual.
  • Act as quality representative to participate in third party and customer on-site audits.
  • Develop and maintain an internal audit program in accordance with customer and industry standards.
  • Monitor expenses in accordance with budgetary objectives and holds departmental costs within the amounts established by the Company.
  • Audit and visit outside suppliers and retain only qualified suppliers that meet the Company's quality operating systems requirements.
  • Monitor, participate, and lead in Material Review Board (MRB) activities with respect to the disposition of non-conforming materials.
  • Initiate a corrective action system required to prevent recurrence of material defects.
  • Maintain customer complaint and return data and initiate policies, procedures and systems to prevent recurrences.
  • Oversee established calibration system and testing program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or necessitated by change or condition.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
  • Other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES

Any combination equivalent to, but not limited to, the following:

ITAR Requirement:
  • Due to ITAR regulations, this position requires that the employee must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident) or a Foreign Person for whom a license is obtained.

Experience/training/education:
  • High School Diploma, or equivalent GED.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in Quality, Engineering or technical field.
  • BS degree in a Quality, Engineering and/or technical discipline preferred.
  • Practical experience in precision inspection and working knowledge of GD&T principles.

Knowledge:
  • Experience and knowledgeable in Aerospace industry.
  • Knowledge of military and government specifications.
  • Prior experience with Aerospace primes (Boeing, GE, Pratt & Whitney, etc.) preferred.

Abilities:
  • Ability to plan, organize, schedule and coordinate Quality activity.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Computer literacy in Windows environment.
  • Proven team player and leader.
  • Ability to travel to customers and work flexible hours as necessary.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

This is primarily a sedentary office position with employees working in a controlled office environment. The employee answers telephone calls and occasionally bends, reaches, and pushes and pulls file drawers to file records and reports. Employee moves throughout the building to collect, deliver, scan and copy documents. The position uses a computer terminal to access, input, and retrieve data. Finger dexterity may be required to operate computer keyboard and calculator. The position includes off-site travel to customers and current and potential suppliers.

Pay Range - Between $100k - 150k based on relevant experience
