Delta Star provides power solutions for utilities across North America. This includes the manufacturing of medium-power transformers, mobile transformers, mobile electrical substations, trailers, and unitized substations. We offer power transformers for utility applications including power and distribution, transmission voltages, system ties, and automatic voltage regulations, as well as industrial applications. Delta Star also provides comprehensive engineering, testing, maintenance services, and parts for any transformer manufacturer through our Field Service business unit, ensuring our customer's transformers and mobiles maintain peak performance.

Full-Time, Salary, Onsite position - 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM with a weekend rotation

Purpose

Conducting daily internal product/process audits, maintain product quality records, and provide quality control support throughout operations. Promoting the Quality Management System, continuous improvement, teamwork, customer satisfaction, and individual job excellence. A change agent who can influence others to achieve results.

Specific Duties

  • Promoting and maintaining the company's Quality Management System and supporting documentation.
  • Performing internal quality audits and utilizing results to drive continuous improvement.
  • Documenting non-conformances, controlling non-conforming material, and participating in the identification of corrective actions.
  • Act as a change agent to see actions through to completion.
  • Recognize improvement opportunities and take action on them by working with cross-functional supervisors to agree on acceptance criteria for closure.
  • Providing quality control support of incoming material and performing detailed dimensional inspection of component parts.
  • Having product technical knowledge, an understanding of engineering drawings, part specifications, and related standards.
  • Support and train manufacturing personnel as needed.
  • Perform diagnostic tasks in solving QA anomalies and test failures.
  • Maintain filing of supplier documentation.
  • Occasionally performing inspection and witness activities at customer or supplier sites.
  • Assist the QA leaders as needed
Education and Work Experience
  • A BS degree is preferred.
  • An associate's degree in a technical discipline with related work experience is acceptable.
  • A welding certification is preferred or technical discipline regarding welding experience is acceptable.
  • SSPC / AMPP certification is preferred or technical discipline regarding painting experience is acceptable.
  • Knowledge of the following is required - ISO 9001:2008, Total Quality Management concept, internal auditing, manufacturing experience. A team player.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to coordinate with all personnel, suppliers, clients on matters of quality and final product acceptance.
  • Must have the ability to generate concise detailed reports.
