Delta Star provides power solutions for utilities across North America. This includes the manufacturing of medium-power transformers, mobile transformers, mobile electrical substations, trailers, and unitized substations. We offer power transformers for utility applications including power and distribution, transmission voltages, system ties, and automatic voltage regulations, as well as industrial applications. Delta Star also provides comprehensive engineering, testing, maintenance services, and parts for any transformer manufacturer through our Field Service business unit, ensuring our customer's transformers and mobiles maintain peak performance.

Purpose

Provide quality assurance inspections and tests in support of and during all phases of power and mobile transformer manufacturing. Analyze data to determine systemic issues, develop action plans, and lead product and process improvement projects.

Main Responsibilities

• Inspect in-process manufacturing by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and communicating required adjustments to the production supervisor and quality manager, to ensure products meet the standards.
• Approves finished products (Power and Mobile transformers) by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work.
• Observe documents inspection results (DIR) by completing reports and logs and inputs data into a quality database (if required)
• Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements and calling for repairs.
• Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
• Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
• Identify and record the non-conformity products or processes.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• 3+ years experience as a QA/QC Inspector in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read blueprints and complex drawings.
• Basic mechanical and electrical measurement tools.
• Computer and office equipment
• Demonstrate ability to lead cross-functional teams to improve product quality and process efficiency.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-orientated and able to work with minimal supervision

Education and Experience

• High school diploma
• Exposure to quality control techniques and processes.
• Experience in using measuring devices such as tape measures, gauges, calipers, and other measuring instruments
• Experience in power transformer manufacturing A PLUS!
