Scope:

Perform duties to sub assemble and install condensing units in HVAC units, working within the limits of standard methods and procedures and making decisions as to sequence of operations as required.

Essential Functions:

  • Work from computerized Quality Management System (QMS) components including production schedules, inventory records, pull lists, bills of materials, Engineering Change Notifications (ECN), random cycle count lists, and work instructions.

  • Build compressor sub-assemblies, fit, adjust, and attach defined purchased parts, coils, and brackets.

  • Validate raw material against requirements, and inspect for damage. Notify area Lead or Supervisor of any out-or-compliance parts or materials.Clean, cut, and run pipes bent to specified configuration, making minor adjustments as required and install in accordance with defined sequence of operations.

  • Braze fittings onto copper tubing in accordance with specifications and safety requirements and stage for installation in base unit.

Other Duties:
  • Perform or assist with any operations, as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules and quality requirements.

  • Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly condition. Consistently operate in keeping with all safety rules and requirements.

  • Participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, and policies.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Tools and Equipment:

Use hand tools, handheld power, and pneumatic tools, pallet jack, crane, brazing torch, torque wrench, micron gauge, leak detector, and other calibrated tools.

Minimum Personal Protection Equipment (PPE):
  • Safety Glasses - ANSI Z87.1
  • Brazing Safety Glasses - ANSI Z87.1 + OSHA 1910.133(a)(5)
  • Gloves - ANSI Cut 3 4544
  • Brazing Gloves - General Duty Leather
  • Foot Protection, Steel Toe - ASTM F2413-11

Physical Demand:
  • Occasionally push with up to 120 lbs. of force.
  • Occasionally push and pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasionally lift and carry up to 55 lbs.
  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, crouch, kneel, climb, maneuver, stoop, squat, grasp, and reach.
  • Visual and aural acuity
