Research Associate 1 Position in Tumor Metabolism. The laboratory of Dr. Kiran Kurmi in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Pharmacology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is seeking a Research Associate 1 to join our new research team. Our lab focuses on understanding how metabolism adapts in proliferative cells, such as cancer cells and activated T cells.

• Contribute to innovative research utilizing advanced molecular and chemical biology techniques, including molecular cloning, PCR, Western blotting, protein purification, enzyme kinetics, flow cytometry, metabolite extraction, LC-MS analysis, mouse studies, and mitochondrial biology.
  
• Understand and interpret research protocols and ensure all research is conducted according to good research practices.
  
• Participate in the publication of significant research findings.
  
• Stay current with relevant publications, methods, techniques, and advancements in the field.
  
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and perform a variety of routine assays, tests, and studies.
  
• Conduct calculations, collect data, and perform statistical analysis of laboratory results.
  
• Adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures, ensuring the safeguarding of university assets.
  

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a biomedical field.
  
• No prior experience required.
